Spirituality
in the Christian Tradition

The Church of Reconciliation is a place to learn and practice a spirituality that is grounded in the Christian tradition and influenced by our Episcopal heritage.

Christian Spirituality

Christian spirituality is an individual and collective process or journey of transformation into the likeness of Christ ("Christ-ening") following Jesus as our inner teacher.  The transformation into "little Christs" is a transformation of our consciousness and our being that expresses itself in an authentic relationship with God and compassionate engagement with the world.

Episcopal Spirituality

Episcopal spirituality has a long history which comes through our Anglican heritage and is deeply influenced by ancient Benedictine spirituality, which emphasized a balance of prayer & sacraments, study & reflection, and compassion & service.   This balance is reflected in the Book of Common Prayer, which is a primary resource of spiritual practice for Episcopalians.

Reconciliation

The spirituality of the Church of Reconciliation is especially focused on practices that bring restoration (reconciliation) to relationships that have been broken, estranged, or divided - human relationships, relationships between people and creation, and relationships between people and God.
